Many girls report having more of these contractions later in the day when they are drained or have not had sufficient to drink. If you are having a number of Braxton Hicks contractions, don’t cease your normal activities, but do be sure to keep nicely hydrated and take a while to get off your toes throughout the day.
When you assume you are in true labor, start timing your contractions. To do this, write down the time each contraction begins and stops or have somebody do it for you. The time between contractions contains the length or duration of the contraction and the minutes in between the contractions (referred to as the interval).
